Programs

East Village Youth Program:

  • Serves students in grades 5-12
  • Offers programming after school and evenings
  • Builds academic and study skills
  • Encourages career and college exploration
  • Focuses on goal setting
  • Offers students opportunities to be matched with a mentor
  • Offers one-on-one tutoring
  • Requires parent participation
  • Offers workshops and programming to schools and organizations in the community
  • Offers a college scholarship to all students who successfully meet all program requirements

Who we are looking for?


    Students who are eligible to join our program are generally:
    • Students with the desire and motivation to achieve their goals and to attend college
    • Students with a minimum C or better (with no grades of D or F) on most recent report card
    • Students with favorable teacher recommendations
    • Students who need the information or support necessary to realize their goals
    • Students from families in the lower income brackets and those who are the first generation in the family considering or attending college (Note: This is not a requirement)
    • To apply to be a part of EVYP’s scholarship after-school program, please fill out the student application.

    Students in all programs:

    • Set goals and assess their individual progress
    • Meet regularly with program coordinators to discuss academic progress and goals
    • Learn note taking skills
    • Go on college visits
    • Participate in regular teambuilding activities
    • Utilize a planner/organizer to manage time
    • Are eligible to receive a college scholarship

    Students also receive additional support through a variety of collaborations EVYP develops with the community and via the many workshops and opportunities we offer during the course of the academic year.
